This summer reminded me that as our children grow, parenting changes too. Teenagers and young adults bring a new balance to find, and I’m still figuring it out.
As our daughter is about to turn 19, I’m reminded that young adulthood is also a season when parents learn to let go a little more—to trust, to hope for the best, and to keep loving while giving their children the space to become who they are meant to be, while allowing ourselves the space to become who we are meant to be, too. ❤️
As our children grow, parenting quietly changes too. This week I reflect on family, summer, finding a little space to breathe after years of raising children, and the joy of watching them become more independent as they discover their own paths. Happy 250th birthday to the United States of America. 🇺🇸🌿
