Sunday, November 23 — Miami

A whirlwind across Cali, Nevada, Give Miami Week, a surprise school switch, and a heart full of gratitude. Conclusion? People make everything possible. Life moves fast — but love, intention, and community keep us steady. More soon… Basel is calling. 💛

Don’t have the patience to read?

Just scroll to my 3 takeaways and some photos 😍🫣

And tell me — how was your week?

Share one highlight in the comments.

People are the glue that makes life more beautiful, and if I haven’t heard from you in a while, send me a message — I’d truly love that. 💛

After a whirlwind across California, Nevada, and then diving straight into Give Miami Week, this weekend in Miami finally felt… cool, calm, restorative. A small exhale after so much motion.

And while I was traveling, life shifted at home too.

Our son got accepted to a new school while I was still in California, and we made the switch the very next morning.

We loved the previous one, we’re grateful for this new chapter — but doing it in real time?

Rock. And. Roll.

Life doesn’t wait. It moves — and somehow we learn to move with it.

California & Nevada — The Human Factor

If everything flowed so well out West, it’s because of the people.

Joshua Tree — a dream shoot in the desert.

Thank you, my sis Elias and Juliane.

Los Angeles — my sister and her family, always love.

Little Tom cheering me on while I missed every mini-basketball shot… then celebrating like crazy when I finally made one. That tiny moment reminded me:

we’re too hard on ourselves — joy is the real win.

Arthur making sure everything went smoothly for his mom’s birthday, my sis surrounded by her three men… and our sister time, gifted by our husbands — every second a blessing.

Las Vegas — my friend Sonya, who drove me from LA and took care of me so well. And Nivia, creating magic with Arts After Darks.

These people — this is what carries us.

Give Miami Week

Then straight into Give Miami.

We did it together:

$3,395 from 61 donors

(…62, actually, because one donor accidentally put my name and email — for a minute I thought I was losing my mind 😅)

Plus the $1,000 bonus!

And 12 of us waking up before sunrise for the 5K.

Now Thanksgiving is coming — a moment to slow down, breathe, and enjoy family.

And if you feel alone: don’t stay in silence. Call someone. There is always a heart ready for you.

Art Basel

Art Basel prep has started, and this year I honored my inner voice.

I withdrew from the fair we had planned with JDR Atelier back in July (they’ll still be in Spectrum, booth 903 — go support them ❤️ I have VIP tickets LMK if you want one). Two beautiful offers came my way since, and I turned them down too.

This year, I want to walk through Basel as a viewer — inspired, present.

But yes… I will still be present:

• through the Miami Shoe Museum, with the shoe I created for Celia Cruz’s centennial, and

• with a museum-style surprise for Unchained Mothering.

More soon. ✨

This Week’s Reminders

• People make the journey.

• Life moves fast — flow with it. Love and intention keep us grounded.

• Clarity opens doors. When it feels right, keep going. When it’s too much, honor yourself — you’re allowed to pause.

With love and light, always,

Jessica — aka Hopeje 🌟

Ps: yes the last 15 days had more than what I share here…. A last reminder for the day 💌 always know how to read between the lines! And keep contacts 🙌

PPS: oh I was exhausted but I did manage to head to the yoga joint for a class this week! That’s is so hard for me to do! Proud I did manage! Celebrate 🙌 the « small victories « they are bigger than you think! And yes I did eat too much chocolate 🍫 this week 🤣

About Hopeje

It’s all about love, life, and the pursuit of happiness. I’m a French-American woman from Paris — born with a suitcase in hand and a heart open to adventure. I’ve always been drawn to the vibrant energy of New York and Miami, visiting every year for a few weeks to recharge on their rhythm, sunshine, and sense of freedom. Who would have thought that life would take me to Luxembourg — where I would find, lose, and find myself again? There, I met the love of my life, built a family with three wonderful children, and traveled… endlessly. (Let’s not forget our loyal dog, who became part of our journey in 2013, and our second furry companion who joined us nearly three years ago!) From Paris to New York, Luxembourg to Miami — traveling has become our middle name. What I love most is discovering the poetry and energy of life wherever I go: architecture, people, customs, places, and the unique atmosphere that makes each encounter unforgettable. Life is a story of movement, emotion, and discovery. Let’s keep exploring, dreaming, and savoring every moment. PS: All content on this blog is shared with pleasure — but it is not free of rights.
