Art artist balance and selfcare empowering parenting Unchained Mothering women empowerment

This week has somehow been both full speed and slow pace.

A week between full speed and slowing down: family travel, art, Shabbat, CAPTURE 2026 at the Coral Gables Museum, community projects, and discovering Theo of Golden at just the right moment.

It started with a long trip back from Parents’ Weekend for our eldest daughter, including a forced few-hour stop in Washington, D.C. Then Monday morning, my agenda cleared itself almost by magic — which was for the best, because I could not have honored any of those meetings anyway.

After that: full speed again. Meetings from North Miami to Coconut Grove, running around until Friday midday, including my 4 Monday morning meeting who got rescheduled throughout the week.

And then… hermit mode.

I have been so happy to stay home.

In my heart, I also honored Shabbat, Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah, while remembering the victims of the October 7 attacks in Israel, that’s felt this weekend on the Jewish calendar three years ago.

Friday night, I had also been invited to the awards ceremony for CAPTURE 2026 at the Coral Gables Museum, where two of my photographs made it onto the walls.

I feel incredibly honored and grateful.

But the ceremony fell on Shabbat, and for me it has become deeply important to stop everything connected to work at that moment.

So I missed the ceremony — and I am at peace with that.

I am very much looking forward to discovering the exhibition this week. It remains on view through November 1, and I am so grateful that my art has opened this door for me for the second time. Thank you to the Coral Gables Museum and to the jury. I will share photographs very soon. If you want to come discover it with me, contact me.

Behind the scenes, the Juniorettes are also working hard to prepare RISE II, our upcoming self-defense event. I am deeply grateful to everyone helping make it happen, and especially to Sensei Carol White, who will lead the workshop. So happy to see the Juniorette Club of coconut Grove, the woman’s club of Coconut Grove and Unchained mothering and White Tiger and Dragon working hand in hand for this workshop. Grateful to have supporters including Commissioner Pardo.

There has also been a lot of work finding partners to support the Juniorette for Rise II and Unchained Mothering for what we are trying to build.

And somewhere in the middle of all of this, I managed to rest a little… and open a book.

Theo of Golden.

I bought it as soon as it came out, but at the time I simply could not get past the first two chapters.

Sometimes we really do have to trust the timing of things.

I have this strange feeling that my grandmother Myra may be placing certain books into my hands exactly when I need them.

I am still reading it, but this book is somehow about being a father, being a mother, being an artist, having a mission, and giving back.

Yes. All of that.

And it goes into places I know very well.

I am completely taken by it.

So I am recommending it — and if, like me, you cannot get through the first two chapters, skip ahead and start with chapter three.

Sometimes the right book needs to meet us at the right moment before it can truly speak to us.

Perhaps that is true of everything in life. We can push, prepare, and do our part, but we also have to trust that some things unfold in their own time.

Lately, I have had the feeling that the people I have been hoping to meet are slowly but surely finding their way to me. That feeling gives me courage — not because everything is certain, but because I am learning to recognize the quiet ways in which things are already moving.

So wish me luck for next week. A lot of important things will have to be finalized, and I am holding on to the hope that what is meant to come together will find its way into place — at the right time, with the right people, and in the right spirit. I m understanding the power of the right manifestation thank you Jennifer white.

With love and light, always,

Jessica

It’s all about love, life, and the pursuit of happiness. I’m a French-American woman from Paris — born with a suitcase in hand and a heart open to adventure. I’ve always been drawn to the vibrant energy of New York and Miami, visiting every year for a few weeks to recharge on their rhythm, sunshine, and sense of freedom. Who would have thought that life would take me to Luxembourg — where I would find, lose, and find myself again? There, I met the love of my life, built a family with three wonderful children, and traveled… endlessly. (Let’s not forget our loyal dog Rocky, who became part of our journey in 2013, and passed in 2025 and our second furry companion Ruby who joined us in 2022!) From Paris to New York, Luxembourg to Miami — traveling has become our middle name. What I love most is discovering the poetry and energy of life wherever I go: architecture, people, customs, places, and the unique atmosphere that makes each encounter unforgettable. Life is a story of movement, emotion, and discovery. Let’s keep exploring, dreaming, and savoring every moment. PS: All content on this blog is shared with pleasure — but it is not free of rights.
