Where to start… ( scroll down for photo )
This year, for the first time in years, I decided to withdraw from showing in an art fair. I wanted to enjoy the shows from the other side, without everything that having a booth at one of the main art fairs entails.
Our JDR Atelier will be at Booth 903 at Spectrum, and you are welcome to discover what Romi, Daniel, and André have created! I also decided to take a real Thanksgiving break with my husband and son, as our daughters were both together in Europe (college time!), and to visit our friends who moved to the Bahamas three years ago. It’s a 40-minute flight away, and somehow we had never found the right moment.
So here we are. Sometimes you need to seize the moment when it’s the right time. And a few weeks ago, I solidified my/our work for Unchained Mothering, as I finally found the perfect way to convey our story.
All the artists had already sent their work long ago, and Geraldine Guardia and I have been working on the videos for a while (and still are!). I feel grateful for the trust I’ve received from all the women whose stories we are sharing. My work at this point was, and is, putting everything together so it conveys the message and the art experience we’ve been building.
Then JC Fractal came into the mix, bringing a magic like never before, and I feel so grateful to rely on his shoulders and talent in executing the part that will make this available to all.
Carolina Avaria is also doing an amazing job on the @unchained_mothering IG.
Miami Give is behind us, thank you to all who have already and again supported us, and Giving Tuesday is ahead of us — reaching its pinnacle on December 2nd, 2025.
If you have not yet and can, please donate to contribute to our mission of valuing mothers’ invisible contributions through art. Here are the links:

So back to what I was saying:
Last week, we got two press releases and an inclusion in an Art Basel Week Miami art guide!
On the holiday side — because in the end I needed to work — I brought my computer… but it gave up on me! I did what was necessary on my phone, and then decided to just let go.
Our friends Diane and Yehuda were incredibly kind and welcoming! Even though they were supposed to take off for a few days, they arranged everything for us to feel welcome and pampered. I have no words.
Right as their family arrived and we spent a beautiful Thanksgiving together, Friday morning took a difficult turn. I encourage you all to keep Diane’s mom in your prayers and send good energy. What touched me deeply was how the whole family surrounded her — showing her that she mattered, united as one, as it should be.
Lately, I’ve been reminded too often how fast life goes, and how it can take turns that even perfect organization cannot prevent. Let’s not put our hands down. It also showed me how much love family and friends can be pillars for everything — how people can show up with resilience and grace. Even people you barely know can surprise you in a good way!
A reminder that the most important things we build are invisible at first: kindness, togetherness, love, care, and courage. It’s giving keys to the younger generation while continuing to move forward. It’s being able to show up from the inside. Do what you can, do it the best you can, and trust (BITACHON).
So today, on the eve of Art Basel Week and six days away from my birthday, I am speechless. I’m doing my best to stay grateful, to keep going, and to do what I believe I’m supposed to do — to the best of my ability. Understanding that life is better when we realize we are stronger together, and that all the kindness we give can only make the world better.
I am not saying negativity, sadness, and maddening things are not real — they absolutely are — but we can choose how we show up to the world, how we decide to live each day. And if we don’t manage on some days, that’s okay too, as long as we keep trying and put our best foot forward.
Even though we were surrounded by love, we were also away from our daughters, our parents, and the rest of our family, and we miss them very much. I also thought about those who are alone or in a dark moment, or dealing with heavy sadness — please know you are never alone; there is always someone to turn to.
Wishing you a good Sunday and a good week ahead — or at least the strength to make the best of it.
On the Thanksgiving side a special thanks to my dear friend Carlos who surprised me with a beautiful flower composition on our doorstep! If you are in Miami head to Floralinea your heart will be transported 😘.

A special thought to all my fellow artists, gallerists, art fairs and everyone working during Miami Art Week — the busiest moment of the year. It’s not a lot of sleep; it’s a lot of focus, muscle, and more…
For the shows:
A special shout-out to Diane Portwood, who made it to SCOPE this year with SAB Gallery — solo show! This artist deserves every bit of success and more.
To my co-founders of JDR Atelier, Romi Myers and Daniel Marin, thank you for allowing me the flexibility not to be by your side at Spectrum Booth 903 this year. And welcome to André Salas, showing with JDR Atelier for the first time!
