Travel Wishes (An Open List)

I love writing things down. It makes me dream, but it also makes it nice to read back. So here is a not so little snapshot of the trips I’d love to take. It’s by no means an exhaustive list—I also want to leave room for the unexpected, because some of the best adventures are the ones we never planned.

An artist residency in a beautiful castle or house in the countryside to paint, create, and finally dedicate real time to my book.

A family trip to Israel for at least two weeks.

Next summer, this one is a must: rent a holiday house in Italy, Greece, or Portugal with the family. A pool, the beach nearby, someone to cook, someone to help with the house, and evenings spent dancing. Just enjoying being together without thinking about the logistics.

More of the American West: Utah, California, Yellowstone, Arizona, New Mexico, another stop in Bentonville, Arkansas, and Texas—some of it also to continue growing Unchained Mothering.

In France, I’d love to discover the Auvergne and the Dordogne, return to Maison d’Arlette, and spend time again in Bordeaux, at the Dune du Pilat, Arcachon, and Burgundy. One of my dreams is to do a proper wine tour and teach my kids—if they’ll join me—or, if not, a few friends, how to taste and appreciate wine.

Paris again, but differently. Slower. Taking the time to simply be there.

Friesland. Scotland. Iceland. Alaska. I’d also love to discover Turkey—especially Istanbul and Cappadocia.

Japan—but far beyond Tokyo.

And, of course, many trips to visit our daughter while she’s in college, and to spend time with our family in Europe. And NYC! Surprisingly, this is the longest I’ve gone without visiting New York. I think it’s starting to miss me… and the feeling is mutual. 😂

We’ll see which ones happen, which new destinations find me, and which dreams are still waiting.

What about you? What’s one trip you’d really love to take?

With love and light,

Jessica

It’s all about love, life, and the pursuit of happiness. I’m a French-American woman from Paris — born with a suitcase in hand and a heart open to adventure. I’ve always been drawn to the vibrant energy of New York and Miami, visiting every year for a few weeks to recharge on their rhythm, sunshine, and sense of freedom. Who would have thought that life would take me to Luxembourg — where I would find, lose, and find myself again? There, I met the love of my life, built a family with three wonderful children, and traveled… endlessly. (Let’s not forget our loyal dog Rocky, who became part of our journey in 2013, and passed in 2025 and our second furry companion Ruby who joined us in 2022!) From Paris to New York, Luxembourg to Miami — traveling has become our middle name. What I love most is discovering the poetry and energy of life wherever I go: architecture, people, customs, places, and the unique atmosphere that makes each encounter unforgettable. Life is a story of movement, emotion, and discovery. Let’s keep exploring, dreaming, and savoring every moment. PS: All content on this blog is shared with pleasure — but it is not free of rights.
