1:11 am, and I’m still wide awake.
Numbed by the world we’re living in—
a thousand thoughts a second, grasping for air.
I became a minion for a few days,
my husband watching in disbelief as I wandered
from our room, to the living room, to my art studio,
dressed in oversized blue yoga overalls.
Dodging raindrops while walking the dogs,
breathing in the heavy, humid air,
waiting for the hurricane to arrive.
It feels like the world is suspended—
one crazy, horrific moment to the next.
But I find my space, my leap of faith, in painting.
Task by task, piece by piece,
I realize my work is like a puzzle,
slowly coming together in the end.
I slept late, woke up late, and still can’t sleep.
But I draw energy from positivity.
When it hits the ground, the only way is up.
We have it in us to draw the light from within
and project it beyond ourselves.
Hang on. Live in the moment.
The promise of a better tomorrow
lies in learning how to enjoy today.
Not out of fear of missing out,
but out of gratitude for the time we have.
I’ll try to sleep now. À demain,
Jessica

Ps: we are witnessing so much ! I m going through waves ! How not to! I m ok, the idea to be able to make a difference by somehow helping others keep me hopeful for a better future.
It is however challenging and I keep on seeing post about mental health week awareness ! So Just in case you need it Don’t stay silent, ask for help if you need there is always a solution, a hand held out waiting to catch you!
Call 988 in the USA, 3114 en France, or just an emergency line, easy to find in all countries! Or just call a friend.
With love and light
Jess
Dedicated to my grandma Myra ( Myriam bat Nancy ) who was always there to pick up the phone for anyone in need.
