Wouah we are back since 7 April from Israel!
Apart from one afternoon in Paris, as I canceled last minute our week end in Breda, the NL, ( due to child sickness), we are almost since one month home.
Ok, my husband was travelling for work 4 days last week, and a couple of days the week before, and our first daughter (8 years old) was away last week-end ( first time camping with scouts).
No ! we can not say we have a dull moment!
And yet, I have the feeling as pleasant as it is that we are home for a long time.
And I act like a horse, breaking with all my strength to preserve some week-end home!
To keep a normal life, and charge our battery!
But what is a normal life?
For us, it’s moving.
In a week time we’ll be going to Paris for my grand-ma’s birthday and I’m so looking forward to it.
In 3 weeks time we are going to London to celebrate my very good friend’s 35’th birthday and her partner’s 40’th birthday, and then Amsterdam…
And maybe a tour in Air ballon ( cf: beforetwentyseven@wordpress.com post bucket List#27 ). http://beforetwentyseven.wordpress.com/2013/04/03/bucket-list-27-2/
My point is, I feel so quiet lately, lucky to be home, enjoying planning meeting with friends, here, building an herb spiral in our garden, sitting on the coach, not packing or bearly not.
In the other hand, I think I also enjoy it because, the new travel is almost in sight.
Tomorrow is my husband’s birthday… My family leaves in both sides of the ocean…
I was on my first plane from Paris to New York when I was 1 month old.
I love travelling, discovering new places, going back to known and loved places…
You often hear that truck drivers can’t stay at the same place for long, the road call them back to it!
I think it’s not a myth you become in need of movement, you are answering it call. You feel a certain freedom ” en avallant l asphalthe” (putting up miles).
“C est enivrant”( it is exhilarating), And yet you feel alive.
I hoped to meet a man and share our life travelling around the world…
It went beyond my expectation and craziest wishes as I became the one to slow down the rhythm…
But slowing down, gives us the thirst for more…and I am looking forward to the next steps…
So I wish a wonderful and happy birthday to my man, wishing him health and luck, in the wonder of where we will celebrate it next year, for tomorrow it will be in LUXEMBOURG.
I ll be happy to post tips and share discoveries or “retrouvailles” ( it means homecoming butI wrote it as revisiting places) on Paris, Luxembourg, London, Amsterdam on the 3 coming weeks so keep posted!
Ps: as you noticed, I sometime write an expression in French. It is a way to be true to myself (as a french american I think in both languages), and it makes you learn some French. Therefore I translate it right after under brackets.
